Session 5: Subawards Made Simple – Getting the Basics Right >>

If your organization passes federal funds down to partners, you take on new responsibilities and risks. This session breaks subaward administration down to the essentials: what it means to be a pass‑through entity, what you’re responsible for at each stage of the subaward, and how to set up a straightforward process for selecting, monitoring, and closing out subrecipients.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the basic responsibilities of pass‑through entities under Uniform Guidance.
  • Learn practical steps for planning and documenting subaward execution and risk assessment.
  • Recognize what effective, “right‑sized” subrecipient monitoring looks like.
  • Become familiar with options for addressing and correcting noncompliance at the subrecipient level.
