Jackie is a manager in BDO’s Industry Specialty Services Group, focused on providing risk and compliance advisory services to federally funded organizations. She has nearly a decade of experience advising clients on matters of regulatory compliance, cost allowability, and risk management and has helped many of her clients prepare for and/or respond to Single Audits and audit requests.
Each year, tens of thousands of Single Audits are submitted to the Federal Audit Clearinghouse, representing the review of over $1 trillion in federal expenditures. Year after year, these audits reveal the same type of challenges leading to questioned costs or internal control concerns for federal funding recipients. This session will explore the common areas of audit findings and what organizations can do to mitigate the risk of such findings.
